RE: Two Birds

Hello,

My name is Maria Jesson. I came across your article on about endangered and exotic species of cranes. I am emailing because I am interested in purchasing the photograph of the two birds shown bellow. We want to have a print made to fit a pretty large frame which would require the highest resolution possible. How much would you charge for such a picture.

Hi, Maria:

Thank you for your inquiry.

You are referring to a picture taken from the book The Birds of Pandemonium: Life Among the Exotic and the Endangered by Michele Raffin from Algonquin Books of Chapel Hil

The picture belongs to the good folk at Algonquin. You should write them and ask for permission to use it. I am sure they will accomodate you.

NOTE: The quote on your email, It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye is attributed to Antoine De Saint I think his full and correct name should be "Antoine de Saint-Exupéry."

RE: A General in the Chinese Army

Mr. Mantea,

My husband's grandfather was a general in the Chinese Army . . . pre communism. Could you please tell me if this book has any information on general Sun? Or do you know of any books that have reference to him? I found out today that an uncle of his that passed had found a book that mentioned his name.

--- Thank you,
Sarah Sun
