RE: Six Wars at a Time

Dear RALPH

The Leslie Heavers review of Six Wars seemed poorly reasoned, non-objective and without any merit at all.

The author was reviewing Gutzon Borglum and condemning a dead man instead of looking at the book in and for itself. This type of hasty analysis reveals the same prejudices for which it condemns Borglum!

I found the book well-researched, objective and honest. It did not conceal Borglum's flaws, but neither did it throw the baby out with the bath water.

I think Heavers needs to review his own process, maybe look "at the man in the mirror" instead of simply projecting all of his own opinions and prejudices onto a decomposing screen.
