cheering for the sea.

He's so small
the sea won't
look at him at all,

rising up
in a net-white heap,
falling dead
on the sand at his feet.

Such a huge blue reach
to the sky,
and every wave
rolling in to die.
Which is not
what appears to Paul,
for whom
it's a nice big pool.
