I enjoyed your article on H. G. Wells' The War of the Worlds.

I was particularly interested to see the two period illustrations that appeared with the article. I have been searching for the illustrations that appeared in the original magazine serialization of the novel (and any other early illustrations of the novel that might exist).

I wonder if you could point me toward a source for them.

Damned if we can figure it out. That review --- and the pictures --- went up before our time. Our best guess is that they come from the book under review from McFarland & Co. You might order it up from ABE.
