A Black Swimmer

a black swimmer crosses blue depths of underwater
gardens from a dream but warriors protecting the
entrance to the Kingdom of Guinea send him back to a
land of zombies where death jackals are devouring
the entrails of a half-starved woman to the drumbeat
of carnival and the lecherous dancing of Baron Samedi
throwing the salt of life on the fire
